MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Two people are now charged in connection with the discovery of drugs, guns and grenades in a Miami home, a discovery which led to street closures during the normally busy Tuesday afternoon commute.

Miami police have charged Darin James Febus, 37, with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, grand theft and possession of cannabis.

Miriam Scott Bailey, 30, was also charged with grand theft and possession of cannabis.

Both were arrested Tuesday night after a fight between neighbors brought police to the house located at 2021 SW 37th Avenue.

During the investigation, police found cocaine, marijuana, a gun, and ten grenades in the home. Officers evacuated the neighborhood along 37th Avenue and blocked off Douglas Road between Minorca Avenue and Coral Way, while the bomb squad removed the grenades in a large metal box. The potentially explosive grenades were found in an open drawer in the bedroom of the house, and they are being tested at a lab to determine if they are live or not.

Miami Police Sgt. Freddie Cruz said the investigation could involve federal charges if the grenades are found to be active explosives.

Police also found a large pet pig named “Simon” inside the home. It’s not clear where he will go now that his owners are locked up.
